May 25, 2005 - First Announcement
Mark your calendars! The 13th Bruker Area Detector Users Group Meeting will
take place in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 22 and 23 (Thursday and Friday),
2005, with an opening tour and dinner at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
We hope that the scheduling of this meeting on the above dates will make it
possible for many of you to take advantage of discount airfares. Many of you
in the Midwest should be able to drive to the meeting.
The primary topics of this meeting will be concerned with the applications
of Bruker-Nonius software and CCD hardware in the field of small molecule
single-crystal X-ray diffraction, but users of other types of Bruker area
detector systems are welcome to attend. A significant portion of the meeting
will be allocated to data processing techniques including data collection
strategy, remote instrument access, handling of difficult and twinned structures,
microcrystallography, and powder diffraction.
The Meeting program has NOT been finalized and your input is welcome. We are inviting you to suggest topics for discussion. We are encouraging you to make a presentation or run a workshop on a topic of general interest. There is a number of time slots for oral presentations open. Alternatively, should you like to prepare a poster – it will be displayed throughout the Meeting. Please send your comments regarding the meeting and/or your presentation to Ilia Guzei directly.
The following experts will make presentations and/or run workshops: Nattamai Bhuvanesh, Susan Byram, Chuck Campana, Gary Enright, John Huffman, Peter Mueller, Michael Ruf, George Sheldrick, Victor Young.
The Bruker CCD Users Group has its own list server maintained at the University
of Wisconsin-Madison. This list was established to facilitate discussion about
the Bruker X-ray systems. Discussions focus on the hardware components of
the CCD detectors, software, and crystallography related issues. This is a
private, unmoderated list. If you are a user of Bruker X-ray equipment we
encourage you to contact Susan Byram
(Bruker-AXS)or Ilia
Guzei (University of Wisconsin-Madison) for
subscription.
