Bruker D8 Venture Mo

The Bruker D8 Venture Photon III four-circle diffractometer with a Diamond II IµS Mo Kα (λ = 0.71073 Å)  radiation source equipped with an Oxford Cryosystems low temperature device model 800 (aka Rosalind) resides in room 2121 of the Shain tower.

The photo shows the instrument .

This instrument is ideally suited for structural characterization of organic and organometallic compounds and crystals of small size (think microns).

Most data acquisitions are conducted at 100 K, however experiments at other temperatures in the 90-400 K range are possible.

The size of the X-ray beam measures ~100 microns in diameter and requires precise crystal alignment. This instrument was commissioned in December 2024. Instrument training is conducted upon request.
